Hey! It’s been a couple of months and some big news to share: Our new album, SIN QUERENCIA, will be out OCTOBER 18th via 20 BUCK SPIN. A first single is out now, called “Plastered Sainthood”, and the record is available for pre-order on digital/vinyl/CD formats. Recorded and mixed by Pete Grossmann at Bricktop Recording in Chicago, IL. Mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege.
The album is called Sin Querencia — “Querencia” is a Spanish metaphysical concept with many definitions. It’s essentially a combination of a place where one feels at home, a place where one feels they can access their inner strength, somewhere safe, a place where one feels their most authentic self, etc. “Sin” means “without” — This album consistently explores, mourns, and confronts the destruction of that “space”. We are honored to have cover artwork by Kikyz1313 for the fourth time, which perfectly and excruciatingly captures the premise of the record.
Musically, we have never been as collaborative, experimental, or focused as when we wrote and recorded Sin Querencia. This is our most fully realized and layered work, and we are looking forward to performing these songs live in many different environs. Our current live bassist is Kayhan Vaziri (Yautja, Wretched Blessing, Coliseum) who has added incredible depth and precision to our performances over the last year (and recorded bass on the title track of the new album).
2019’s long out of print Thrive on Neglect is also getting a re-press on a sick new variant, that’s available for pre-order now, too.
